# Turn a photo into a painting

Use a reference photo to explore a digital painting style, including oil and watercolor. Style presets and text instructions guide generation; this is AI-generated artwork rather than a hand-painted service.

## Workflow
1. Sign in and add a clear JPG, PNG or WebP photo in [the painting tool](https://imgtoimg.co/photo-to-painting).
2. Choose a style, add any instructions, select the available generation settings, check the cost and generate.
3. Review likeness and details, refine with a charged follow-up edit if needed, and download the result.

## Style selection and further edits
A style preset guides the initial generation. After reviewing a result, select that generated version and describe a further change; this creates a new charged image rather than modifying the saved file for free.

## Account and costs
Sign in to generate and download. New accounts receive 6 signup credits. Free generation is limited to 1K; valid paid access supports 1K, 2K and 4K. Uploading alone uses no generation credits. Each output or follow-up edit uses credits; check the total before submitting. Free downloads have an ImgtoImg preview watermark. Paid downloads omit it, but model-generated marks or text can remain. ## Output and limits
AI can change facial likeness, text and other details along with the painting style. You must have permission to use the photo. Review the downloaded image before publishing or using it for a client. Generation time depends on external providers.

The result is a raster file; brushwork, identity and fine details are not guaranteed to match the input exactly.
